Black and white

Skivvy: Dotti. Jumper: Ally. Pants: Zara. Boots: K-Mart.

Recently I've been reaching more for monochrome pieces when getting dressed. I can't be bothered with mixing colours and prints too much, instead appreciating how easy it is to wear neutrals and preferring to add colour with my lipstick or a scarf. Perhaps it's because it's winter, or because I'm just craving a bit of simplicity, but it seems I'm leaning more towards classic than quirky in my old age ;)

I love the look of that cosy jumper. I love how classic and pulled together monochrome outfits look but lately with all the cold weather I have been leaning towards bright clothes to cheer me up :)

  7. Yep I've been loving simplicity, which I prefer to call 'sophisticated' and 'classy' rather than 'lazy' haha ;)

Love your style, dear! I was looking through your post and it's like you have a "life uniform" different colors and patterns but still very you and very consistent...love that!

  27. Hi there! I followed you over from The Sydney Chronicles and I just have to say...your pictures are so phenom. (And those boots?? Swoon.) Can I ask what camera/lens you use? I just got a DSLR and am trying to figure out what aperture (and other?) settings will get me this kind of lovely sharp foreground/blurred background.

  28. Aww thanks so much Emma!! These were taken with my Canon EOS 600D camera and 50mm 1.8 lens, with aperture set at f/2.2 and ISO 200. And a good tip is to use the 'sharpen' function in a photo editor (like Photoshop or iPiccy) to sharpen them up a touch. Hope that helps! :)

  30. It definitely does, thanks! I am working with a kit lens now, which only goes down to f/3.5. Guess it's time to start a savings fund for a nice f/1.4 or 1.8 lens :)
